Abdoul has been teaching law in Burundi since 2011, and joined a well-established business law firm in 2013 before founding Trust Juris Chambers.

He has rich and varied experiences on legal matters in Belgium, France, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi including in international business law, corporate and commercial, restructuring and insolvency, energy and mining, telecoms, banking and finance, real estate, infrastructures and project finance.

  • Advising an international leading telecoms operator in telecoms license requirements, tariffs and license costs fees in Burundi.
  • Advising an international company in acquiring a real estate property in Burundi (negotiations, drafting of real estate sale agreement, conveyancing, tax and investment incentives, etc.).
  • Advising on competition merger and acquisition of limited liability companies and merger notification in Burundi as well as to the regional bodies.
  • Advising an international organization regarding the Energy sector of Burundi (cross-border survey) taking into account the investment risk assessment.
  • Advising the World Bank (EBA) regarding the Burundi regulatory telecoms framework.
  • Advising an international nongovernmental organization in establishing and implementing its activities and programs in Burundi.
  • Advising an international consortium operating in the Energy sector in developing its activities in 5 African countries.
  • Advising an international NGO in a real estate project (commercial complex) as a sustainable investment for financing its own activities and programs in Burundi.
  • Participating in a commercial litigation regarding a real estate project of over EUR 1 billion in Belgium and Turkey.
  • Advising a distribution company established in Algeria and dealing with a Belgian company operating in steel industry in a commercial litigation (European protection mandatory rules for commercial agents on termination of their agency agreements).
  • Participating on drafting and negotiation of a loan agreement of EUR 500 million for a construction company.
  • Advising a minority shareholder in recovering his investments (EUR 12 million) in a French group of companies.
  • Participating in a commercial litigation on abusive termination of agreement and infringement of a noncompetition clause between a multinational aerospace and transportation service provider and a Belgian electrical system builder company.
  • Participating in advising the PTA Bank in a commercial transaction of USD 3 million value (including the drafting of the due diligence report).
  • Advising an international group of companies based in France on acquisition of 3 pharmaceutical Burundian companies (including the drafting of the due diligence report).
  • Participating in negotiation and drafting of PPP agreements and PPA in several African Francophone countries.
  • Drafting a legal opinion on assets transferring of USD 20 million for a Burundian leading local telecommunications company.
  • Participating on restructuring of a major telecommunications company in Burundi and establishing a Mobile Virtual Network Operator company.
  • Advising a company in a mixed-use development project in down tow of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
  • Drafting a legal opinion on restructuring of the Board management, between a local petroleum company and an International petroleum company based in South Africa.
  • Drafting a policy note on “Costs of registering collaterals in francophone Africa: the case of Burundi”, for the IFC of the World Bank.
  • Drafting a legal opinion on “International Expansion of an international company. Cross jurisdictional survey”, for a major International computer company based in California in the USA.
  • Participating in legislative drafting and follow-up of the bill of law relating to the Credit Bureau of Burundi.
  • Contributing to the Doing Business Annual Reports, since 2014, World Bank.
